Each week Mrs. Kirby sends out the Keenan Kingdom News. You can find the highlights from the week here!
Howdy! I hope all of you had a great weekend. I bet you had some tired little lions after a full week of school.
Thanks for being patient with us as we work out the first week procedures. Every day gets better and better.
Students may enter the building each morning at 7:50 a.m. The car rider line will open at this time. We are asking that unless you are checking in for a specific reason, please use the car rider line. Make sure your kiddos have their stuff together, shoes on and are ready to get out of the car in the mornings when you pull up to the colored cones. We don’t want to hold up traffic. If you aren’t ready, we will ask you to move up to the orange cone. We appreciate your help and understanding with this. The car rider doors will close at 8:15 starting Thursday, August 25th. If you arrive after 8:15, your student will need to check in the front office.
Students will be dismissed each day at 3:40 p.m. Parents will not be allowed to avoid the car rider line by entering the school and requesting the front office to call their child. If you are a car rider, please make sure you have our designated car rider sign. This is for safety purposes. If you need extras, we can send those home anytime. After this week, you will be asked to come get one in the front office if you don’t have the right one in line. We also ask that you not get out of the car to buckle or put stuff in the trunk, etc. You are welcome to pull around the Oak Hills line to buckle and get your little one all situated. If you are asked to move up to the orange cone, please put your flashers on so the car behind you will know you are stopping.
Our goal is to have car riders loaded and done every day by 4:00. We couldn’t make this happen without your help and support.
Transportation Changes-- Transportation changes must be made in writing no later than 2:00pm. Changes can be sent with a student or faxed to 936-276-5501 or emailed to KeenanTransit@misd.org.

FIRE DRILL--We had our first fire drill today!! We were out of the building in a little less than 3 minutes. That is amazing for our first drill of the school year!
